Photographs of personal belongings left behind at former Nazi concentration camps confront absence through presence, memory through object.

Photographed at two Nazi Concentration camps just outside of Berlin, Germany. It was unique and surreal and haunting to be handling these never before seen personal items, 80+ years after the actual person had used or worn them, at the very same camp, under inhumane conditions.

It is my wish for these images to ask you the viewer; who was this person that owned this item? Where did they live and what did they do, who did they love and who loved them? And what was a their ultimate fate?

It is only a matter of time that separates us for them. Please don’t forget us the images cry out with voices long silenced.
