A space suit reimagined with humor and quiet absurdity.

Space explores the tension between solitude and discovery. Perhaps it’s how each of us walks through life?

Shot at my studio in Sydney, using an authentic 1960 Mercury Space/Flight suit, as worn by the Apollo Astronauts of the time.

Against the blackness, unexpected fragments of earthly life appear: a bicycle, a bouquet of sunflowers, flashes of vivid colour. The sunflowers, my favourite flower, bring warmth, optimism and a sense of home into this otherwise cold and unfamiliar world.

They remind us that wherever we travel, we carry something deeply human with us: our memories, our humour, our longing for connection, and our instinct to search for light.
